Valde Systems VS151

Valde Systems has introduced the first camera designed specifically for outdoor autonomous vehicle operation. Now you don't have to choose between cheap, poor-quality security cameras and expensive, but fragile, machine-vision cameras.

The VS151 combines convenient size, ruggedness, and capability with a price you can afford.

Valde Systems VSCP001

Valde Systems VSCP001 The Valde Systems VSCP001 is the first available coprocessor module for our VS1501x series of vision processors. It is designed to take the performance of your image processing application to the next level!

For pure image-processing performance, it's difficult to beat a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), and the VSCP001 doesn't disappoint.

With a large 60k logic element Stratix II from the Altera Corporation and four dedicated high-speed DDR II SDRAM memories, the VSCP001 can handle just about anything you can throw at it!

The VSCP001 simply plugs onto the VS1501x board and automatically re-routes the video data through it. Since both the input and output video flow through the FPGA, operations can be performed in either direction.

The FPGA can be used for many functions, including:

  • Lens distortion correction
  • Video overlay
  • Video re-sizing
  • Epipolar Geometry plane point projection
  • Distance measurement
  • Reading text

Quartus II Software Included

Through our relationship with Altera we are able to include a full version of the Quartus II FPGA development software, not a feature-reduced free Web version. This software allows you to develop your application using traditional development languages such as Verilog or VHDL. With the powerful Quartus II software, you can download your application directly into the FPGA on the VSCP001 using an available USB Blaster cable.

Intellectual Property

Valde Systems includes the basic files needed with every VSCP001, including the DDR II SDRAM controller IP block. Additional IP blocks are currently under development by Valde Systems, and Valde Systems customers are also regularly developing new functions, many of which will be available in our download section free of charge. This community of open source IP can be a valuable resource for your project. Please contact us for more information.
