Systems VS1502
The Valde Systems VS1502 builds on the performance of the VS1501 by
adding a high performance Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) in
addition to the DSP. The performance improvement can be as much as
10 times.
With new higher resolution cameras running at faster frame rates,
an FPGA is key for performing image-processing algorithms in real
time. The FPGA is available for the user to implement their own custom
image processing routines. In addition, Valde Systems is developing
various Intellectual Property (IP) cores for use in the FPGA. Valde
Systems can also customize these cores for different applications.
The FPGA has been inserted directly into the pipeline between the
camera and DSP. This is ideal for pre-processing functions, such as
correction for optical lens distortion, performing image correspondence,
or histogram calculations. The FPGA has its own dedicated high-speed
external SDRAM memory for fast efficient algorithm execution.
